CBCL is an established commercial spin-off from the University of Cambridge. CBCL is responsible for developing and supporting the electronic versions of the British National Formulary, which aims to provide prescribers, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals with authoritative, up-to-date information about the use of medicines. Our work has now broadened to encompass:

  • hosting and support of web applications, primarily in the healthcare domain
  • tools and applications for publishers
  • tools and libraries for software developers

CBCL also provide services to Coherence Data Ltd, a collaboration between the NHS and commercial organisations based in and around Cambridge. The partnership draws on the complimentary skills and experiences of the National Cancer Registration Service – Eastern Office (formerly ECRIC), Cyres and Clinical Biomedical Computing Ltd (CBCL) to provide NHS organisations with bespoke data collection systems, data audit tools and visualisation, reporting and analysis. This combination offers compelling opportunities for the clinical information world.
