Search

Use search to find specific words or phrases anywhere in the text.

Enter a search

• Enter the term you wish to search for in the search box at the top of the page as
  • a single word (e.g. aspirin)
  • a phrase or multi-word term enclosed in double quotes (e.g. "renal failure")
  • Several terms separated by spaces (e.g. warfarin aspirin)
• Click on the search button.

Search results

When you perform a text search, the results display tells you how your search has been handled.

The display includes:

• An explanation of what has been searched
• the number of matching documents
• the list of documents retrieved

The list of documents includes the titles of the documents and their locations. This will help you select the most relevant records to view.

Click on the title of a document to display the document with matching terms highlighted.

Refining a search

You can refine your search by using the + and - operators.

Examples:

• +aspirin +warfarin: finds documents matching both warfarin and aspirin
• absorption metabolism +warfarin: finds documents containing absorption and/or metabolism which also mention warfarin.
• aspirin -warfarin: finds documents matching aspirin which do not mention warfarin
• aspirin warfarin +metabolism -"protein binding": finds documents matching aspirin or warfarin which must match metabolsim but do not mention the phrase "protein binding"
